DO NOT USE ANY REGISTRY CLEANERS
- They can remove registries which could lead to breaking:
- Microsoft .Net Framework.
- Microsoft SQL LocalDB.
- Note: LINKS does not use any major registries that you would need to delete to reinstall the app.
Check speech recognition engine
- Open Control panel.
- Click Speech Recognition.
- Click Start speech recognition.
- Run through the speech recognition setup.
- Close windows speech recognizer window.
- Start LINKS.
Check SAPI voice
- Press Windows Key + R
- Type %windir%\System32\speech\speechux\sapi.cpl
- Press Enter
- Make sure there voice selection is enabled and there is a voice to select.
- Click Preview Voice
- If you hear the voice that means the voice will work with LINKS.
Set Microphone Level
- Close LINKS
- Open microphone level settings from Sounds under Control Panel or the Sound Tray Icon.
- Open microphone setup wizard:
- Press Windows Key + R,
- Type %windir%\System32\speech\speechux\SpeechUXWiz.exe MicTraining
- Press Enter.
- Go next in microphone setup wizard.
- Note: You don’t have to read the displayed text.
- Watch the mic level in the settings window, while yelling or tapping into microphone.
- Make the level go about 50% or as low as desired.
- Run LINKS.
- Repeat again if you need to get the mic volume lowered.
Check Microsoft SQL LocalDB
- Press Windows Key + R
- Type cmd
- Press Enter
- Type SqlLocalDB i
- If you get SqlLocalDB is not recognized as an internal or external command...
- Try this path "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\120\Tools\Binn\SqlLocalDB.exe"
- Make sure 2014 SqlLocalDB is installed properly.
- Make sure LINKS shows up in the list.
- Type SqlLocalDB d LINKS
- Type Exit
- Press Enter.
- Start LINKS.
